She provides a variety of lessons and activities to help her students develop the foundational skills they will need for Kindergarten. In addition to caring for her students, Mrs. Cranmer can always be counted on to help support her fellow colleagues. She is a respected and vital part of our Cool Spring faculty. We truly appreciate Mrs. Cranmer's contributions to our school, and believe she is highly deserving of this recognition.

Acquinton Elementary School

Employee of the Month

Vicky Moren

The Acquinton Elementary School Employee of the Month for January is our Library Assistant, Mrs. Vicky Moren. Throughout the past 6 months, Mrs. Moren has been asked to take on a variety of roles and responsibilities. You can find her serving as a substitute teacher, stepping in to cover for an instructional aide, covering in the front office and more. She is very gracious in supporting our every need. However, while supporting us, she never allows the needs of the library to go unattended to. She goes above and beyond to support our librarian in making our library a magical place to learn. She is an amazing employee that we all count on each day. Her colleagues have shared the following:

  • “It is so obvious that Mrs. Moren loves our children and loves her job! “
  • “Mrs. Moren is asked to wear many different hats here at AES. She is always willing to help. Her response is often, "I do it for the kids!" She truly wants them each to succeed.”

The Acquinton Family is proud to honor Mrs. Moren as the Employee of the Month for January. It is an honor she truly deserves.

Hamilton Holmes Middle School

Employee of the Month

Lew Phillips

Hamilton Holmes Middle School is proud to announce Lewis “Lew” Phillips as our Employee of the Month.  Lew has been an asset to not only the 8th grade team, but to HHMS as a whole. He is the definition of a team player, and is always willing to step up to help his fellow teachers or any student. He sets high expectations for his students in Science, but he teaches them more than just his subject. He does a great job in building a rapport and teaching them respect, how to be successful in both school and life, and to be mindful of their decisions. Lew is consistently supportive. The students are challenged by his class, but he is a fair and respected teacher.  Thank you for all you do, Lew!

King William High School

Employee of the Month

Kami Newbill

The King William High School employee of the month for January is Mrs. Kami Newbill.  King William High School is a special place thanks to wonderful people who go above and beyond their assigned roles.  Mrs. Newbill is an excellent example of this, and she does it all with a "can do" attitude! Despite being short-staffed in the school counseling department, our students and community have still received the care and service they deserve. This is in large part due to the tireless efforts by Mrs. Newbill. She will be the first to say she appreciates the efforts of Mrs. Fields and Ms. Baker as well!

This year our, "Be That One" initiative is focusing on "Making a difference." Mrs. Newbill does this every day. She is a role model for staff and students by doing whatever it takes to ensure students and staff have what they need to be successful. King William High School is a better place for having Mrs. Newbill on our team!

King William School Nutrition

Employee of the Month - January 2020

Betty Lewis

The King William Food & Nutrition Program is proud to name Mrs. Betty Lewis as the Employee of the Month for January 2020, based out of King William High School. Mrs. Lewis started working as a Substitute School Nutrition Staff member in September of 2019 and accepted a Full-Time position in November of 2019.  Although Betty has 17 years previous experience in School Nutrition, with 1 year as a School Nutrition Manager, she has dedicated herself to learning all she can about the daily activities of the school nutrition kitchen at King William High. Mrs. Lewis is always eager to learn new tasks within the department and always maintains a positive attitude while wearing a smile. She is a valued member and great asset to this department.

Mrs. Lewis and her husband, Ronald, of 28 years, have 4 sons and 4 grandchildren.  Betty and her husband are 10 year residents of King William County.  She enjoys working in the School Nutrition Department because she likes interacting with the students, making sure they are receiving good, nutritious meals, and enjoys seeing them smile. She enjoys the interaction with the other School Nutrition staff members and always contributes to an enjoyable, fun work environment.  In her spare time, Betty enjoys spending time with her family, camping and doing crafts.  We are delighted to have her as a member of our family.
