8th Grade students experienced exciting lessons in physical science Friday at Kings Dominion and participated in activities presented by the Math Science Innovation Center. They were able to calculate the height of the Eiffel Tower using a sextant that they created. After experimenting with different fin designs, teams competed to create the longest flying rocket. Using computer generated models, they were able to see how engineers use banked tracks to keep roller coaster trains on the tracks. Finally they explored the park and experienced forces and motion first hand.
