2019-20 School Calendar Draft

KWCPS staff has developed the draft 2019-2020 school calendar.  Please note that staff is proposing that the start of the school year be PRIOR to Labor Day.  King William County has experienced an increased number of weather related events over recent years, which has resulted in a substantial loss of instructional time.  Starting school prior to Labor Day will afford students the additional instructional time needed to support continued academic success.

The King William County School Board is seeking public input on this proposal at the Feb. 19th school board meeting.  The public input portion of the meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the HHMS atrium.

Standards of Accreditation/Required Attendance Guidelines

SOQ Attendance

The HHMS renovation is underway. Construction crews have begun demolition of the school board offices and will then begin the construction of what will be the 6th grade wing. Starting TOMORROW, Wednesday January 24th,  the access road from Rt. 30 to AES will be closed until further notice.  Therefore, all traffic coming to and from AES will need to use Acquinton Church Road.  We realize that this is an inconvenience for our families and we appreciate your patience as we make much needed improvements to the HHMS facility.

New Procedure for Entrance to the King William School Board Offices

When visiting the School Board Office, please use the door entrance in front of the Hamilton-Holmes Middle School Gymnasium.  There is a entry buzzer located on the left side of the brick wall.
