Human Resources

The Human Resources department handles everything from processing employment applications, assisting with professional staff licensure renewals, processing payroll, and assisting staff members with their healthcare and benefits.

The department of Instruction is responsible for curriculum and assessment, programs of studies, textbooks, instructional materials, summer school, homebound instruction, and long-range planning.

School Finance

The main functions of the Finance Department are to pay vendors and employees in an accurate and timely fashion, to facilitate budget development, and to maintain the budget and financial records of King William County Public Schools.

These functions are performed in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) set by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), as well as Virginia Department of Education Requirements, Commonwealth of Virginia Laws, Rules of the Auditor of Public Accounts and King William County School Board Policy.

The Finance Department includes Budget & Accounting, Accounts Payable, Grants, Payroll, and Benefits.

Special Education

The Department of Special Programs is an integral part of the KWCPS Department of Instruction and is responsible for all programs serving students with disabilities including identification, program development, and service implementation.  We also address issues related to homelessness, discipline, truancy, school health, enrollment, early intervention teams, therapeutic day treatment services, and inter-agency support programs.

The KWCPS technology department provides the school community with technology leadership and solutions designed to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of instruction and all other school operations.  The technology department is committed to working with staff members to achieve the school board goal to provide a high quality education for all students to become productive members of their community.
